My grandfather’s house

The lake Nedingen is a magical place for me. The wooden house, where I live now with my wife, was my grandfather’s little summer house. From when I was born the lake has been a place for discovering and learning about life in nature, far away from Stockholm where I lived as a young kid.

A guitar with two necks

In this recording I use my special guitar, made for me by the great luthier Roberto Viglione. It is a double-necked electric guitar with one normal neck and one fretless.

Playing with Paolo

Paolo and I met in the early 90s. We have been working together on several albums and the musical communication and dialogue has always been very easy. I think it depends on our mutual passion for folk music — usually called world music — mixed with jazz and improvisation, and we both have our roots in the southern part of Italy. Not to forget that we both love a good meal and a nice glass of red wine!

Elsewhere

Lutte moved to Italy at twenty-four in search of his roots and stayed twenty-five years, releasing five albums of his own music and playing on countless recordings across jazz, pop and world music. He has performed in New York, Hong Kong, Damascus, Aleppo, Algiers, at Sanremo, Umbria Jazz and the Roccella Ionica Jazz Festival, with Paul McCandless, Antonello Salis, Baba Sissoko, Javier Girotto, Roberto Gatto, Ares Tavolazzi, Christian Spering and Peter Asplund. After Italy he settled by lake Nedingen and produced two more albums there. The war in Syria and the refugee crisis of 2015 led him to found the Flen World Orchestra.
